I was inspired by an old photo of Romy Schneider to try this makeup out on my new second assistant, Leanne. Then I found out from www.style.com that this month is the 30th anniversary of her untimely death at 43. What a beautiful woman and such a shame she left so soon.

Our friends Gavin and Deborah Turk tied the knot on Saturday at Hall Place in Bexley (www.houseoffairytales.org). My assistants Athena and Leanne were pleased to paint faces and practised on themselves beforehand, like all good makeup artists should! The House of Fairytales’ caravan was a welcome refuge from the rain, but spirits certainly weren’t dampened and the day was beautiful (as was the bride!)
Birthday cake twice and the colour purple on my special day! Celebrating 25 years of togetherness and 13 years of marriage with my husband Tony. And as you can see, thanks to my amazing assistant Athena, who decorated my studio, I’m 48.

Sometimes pale is very interesting! I love the classic combination of black, white and red – you can’t beat it for impact. I also love the photographers Luciana Val and Franco Musso who shot this story, and my friend Sebastian Kaufmann who styled it.
Congratulations to Chanelle for winning Best Female Junior Angler at the Tobago International Game Fishing Tournament recently. She’s obviously not just a pretty face and certainly has a winning smile!
Even on holiday, I couldn’t resist working when I met the lovely Chanelle, introduced to me by talented Allan Marcelle who’s been making exclusive jewellery and selling it from his beach shack in Charlotteville, Tobago, for the past decade. We were inspired by his creations when making up Chanelle, particularly the turquoise feather earrings.
