Concept: “We wanted to make our look seem fresh and very childlike. Make-up is seen as armour for women to wear before they are seen in public, but why wear certain make-up in certain places? Why can’t lipstick be worn on the eye?”
Creative journey: “We decided to challenge the serious and perfect notions of beauty and conventional make-up styles. Our ideas have derived from looking at the beauty in discarded objects: the bright colours and bold graphics on disposed packaging.”
Learning curve: “The overall outcome of our test shoots showed us that we didn’t want to use food, or necessarily rubbish, but we definitely wanted to use bright colours. This led us to look deeper into the make-up and preparation for our next test shoot.”
Magazine targeted: Nylon: “It’s not a top fashion article but the styling and bright make-up make it crazy and fun.”
